...there will be a less expensive desktop/set-top with a HDMI port. You will be able to totally share between the devices whether they are 'together' at home or not. R&B :) |

Quote: Then get the netbook and use it for what it's for - browse the web.
"Using the web" increasingly involves watching videos / movies, listening to music or playing online games. It is not unreasonable for a potential customer to ask for the option to connect a netbook to a large screen, be it for a business / school presentation or strictly for entertainment purposes.Quote: HDMI on a netbook is one of the wierdest ideas I've heard in a long time.
HDMI on a netbook is becomming fairly common now. Quote: No business projectors use HDMI - they all use VGA.
That is a bold statement to make. I am afraid it is not true. Here are just two random examples out of many: 1. http://www.dell.com/content/products/pr ... l=en&s=biz 2. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2273922,00.asp |

I should note that this is only true because it is a much smaller connector than VGA or DVI - in our case it just won't fit.The product description of the Efika Netbook right now on the website does not match precisely what we are going to ship; it represents the last major revision but there have been some changes made (which most people will very much appreciate). The developer edition boards will come with LCD/VGA for the time being and the Open Client will come with HDMI (with a build option for VGA at a later date for lower cost markets). |
