Power Developer :: Edgy wont boot after install

I've installed Edgy twice now. Once using EXT3 with the default instaler and once switching it to EXT2. Both go through just fine and make the partition using to empty space on my drive. hda is created and then it tells me the command line at the end to get it to boot.

Once I try it, all I get is an OF message telling me "Filesystem not supported"

What am I doing wrong? The partition I make is hda5. (I have the last version of ununtu there with no problems). and I am 100% sure I am typing the correct command.

It has more options than the Live CD does.

I am also having the same problem. I have just done an Edgy install from the DVD onto my ODW.

The problem stems from the fact that Open Firmware starts partition numbering at 0 where as Linux starts at 1. When you complete the DVD install Edgy gives you the following command to boot it: boot hd:1 boot/vmlinux root=/dev/hda1 A default Ubuntu disk configuration has two partitons root and swap. Open firmware sees the root partition as hd:0 and swap as hd:1, therefore tries to boot from the swap partition and gives the "Filesystem not supported" error. The correct boot command should be: boot hd:0 boot/vmlinux root=/dev/hda1 This works for me at least and I hope it helps Acill.
