Since opened we have had 206 distinct users reserve the VirtuaLab, and 88 distinct users of the Lab. Not surprisingly our top two users were: "takemehomegrandma" and "hooligan" with 512 and 189 minutes respectively, as if they did not have enough Pegasos machines to play around with already! :-D

TMHG, Just in case you want another one we are setting up a link to this from the virtual desktop:

https://www.pegasosppc.com/special_odw. ... techonline

But, isn't FOUR enough already?! :-D

Speaking about techonline.com, wouldn't it be nice to be able to use "Pegasos" as a search term on their front page, and not only "Genesi"/"ODW"?

Just a suggestion though ... :-)

Another update:

If you notice on the Virtual Desktop we have added a "Buy" button. It links to this:

https://www.pegasosppc.com/special_odw. ... techonline

Since July 1st, the PegasosPPC/ODW ranked second or third in number of distinct users, and number of times it was used from all the systems included on TechOnLine. That is very good and tells us that there is decent interest in the platform. In the next couple of months we plan on getting more machines online with other distributions of Linux, perhaps OpenSolaris and... even MorphOS!

R&B :-)

What other operating systems would you like to see available online?

Today, we have added a SUSE ODW online. The official PR will be posted later today:

Open Desktop Workstation with SUSE Linux 10.0 VirtuaLab

We have also switched to Gentoo on the original machine:

Open Desktop Workstation with Gentoo Linux 2005.0 VirtuaLab

In the meanwhile, since July 2005 the most used TechOnLine Lab is the ODW! We should probably also mention that the crazy Hooligan (Mikko Virtanen) from Finland has used the Lab for almost 2000 hours in that time!!! Hooligan, isn't your ODW enough?! :D

Hey Everybody! Give the new machines online a try and let us know what you think. Thanks!

R&B :)

Seems the Pegasos/ODW disappeared from TechOnline.

When they come back they'll have the latest OS installed on them. SuSE has been updated twice, and Gentoo 3 times since then (2006.1 should be out by next week or the week after).
