as this way the lower part of they screen could change from an English to a Hungarian layout keyboard (which I use rarely, and then have to check from another keyboard, where the different accent marks are...), or to an icon based user interface, or preview of images or book pages shown on the main screen.
Its not written anywhere there, but the chip powering these are obviously the iMX515 and the upcoming iMX535 (
