The Riverwash Party is in a couple of weeks. Grzegorz "Fei" Juraszek is busy getting things ready. Grzegorz has placed an excellent document online. Check it out: RIVERWASH DEMOPARTY 24-26.08.2007. What the demoscene is? If you read it you will discover the answers. Genesi is proud to be a Riverwash Sponsor.

We have had some trouble getting the right items shipped to Grzegorz, but we think we finally reconciled the missing pieces from the initial shipment today and it is on the way. Grzegorz ordered 15 Efika boards for the Event and those are already in Poland. We will make sure the missing components for the Open Clients make it there too. It looks like it will be a great Event!

Great work Grzegorz!

R&B :-)

How about a final word on this Event. Please have a look:

This is a very nice touch and something that all Event organizers could consider doing. We appreciated getting this Certificate in the mail when we arrived back in the USA this past week. We will be pleased to support the Riverwash Team next year too.

Best regards,
R&B

Indeed, thumb up for the idea and the effort. Damn, it's hard to make a better organized party than the polish guys are able to do... :) But at least there's always a place for us to improve! :]

Well, as far as interested developer/user driven events go, the EFIKA had its best success in Hungary (SceneCon was great Karoly - you and your organizing team did a very good job too and you followed up very well with the OpenWRT Project as you have for years with OpenPascal, etc. [1]), Poland as mentioned here (Riverwash [2]) and in other threads (i.e., AmiParty4[3]), and in Germany (thanks to Geit@Home [4] and other such events).

Then, there were more formally oriented events, towards academics for example, such as 6th International Workshop on Ambient Intelligence and Embedded Systems in Finland [5] and the University of Tokushima's Science Festival in Japan [6], or towards more commercial use such as demonstrated recently at NI Week were the EFIKA headlined with QNX [7].

It takes all these kinds of events to move an architecture (PowerPC [8]) and a platform (the EFIKA) forward [9]. When these things all can happen simultaneously and compound [10], then small companies like Genesi can grow. Thanks to all of you we are [11]!

In the meanwhile, we are really looking forward to getting the EFIKA2 Developer Program started, so please update your Projects!

R&B :)
