SceneCON is this weekend in Budapest. SceneCON is a multi-platform demoscene party and computer arts meeting. It is being held for the second time. The organizers expect attenders to come from all corners of the computing world - retro sceners still active on 20 year old home computers such as the C64 and Amiga up to fans of the latest high-end computers, graphics technologies and consoles, such as the Playstation 3 and XBox360. Originally the organizers did not plan to be create an international event, but they have! Pre-registration shows they can expect attenders from Germany, Austria, and Serbia. In the summer of 2003, the first SceneCON was held. One of the first Pegasos presentations in Hungary was made by Lajos Nagy. People were able to see some not yet published developments, as well as the available hardware at that time. There were seminars about many interesting developments, such as a Zeta presentation by Bernd Kortz himself. In 2007, the aim is to continue this "tradition" with a few EFIKA presentations. MorphOS 2.0 will be shown as well as other operating systems running on the EFIKA. The partyserver, which - thanks to the members of local Pegasos and MorphOS user community - will be a Pegasos II computer, serving internet access and other LAN features up to 100 people with nearly 50 computers. Other seminars include a J2ME game programming seminar (how to write games and multimedia applications to your cell phone in Java language). Don't worry if you cannot attend the party. You can watch SceneCON TV, the online stream. The stream URL will be published on the partypage (see initial link above) later this week. If you are in Budapest, please stop by. We will blog on this tomorrow. R&B :) |
