Hi.
So, did anyone try the streaming audio? Did it work?
Best regards,
Johan
it works great from VLC (winxp) but i had a slight problem with MPC (media player Classic) i think it was my codecs messing up though not your end.
i did think about weather your end might also stream some AVC video, but i dont know your upload limits to serve it ?.
a simple VLC set for serving should be fine i think , its the upload rate that will kill it perhaps.
Video encoded at 624x352 290Kbit/s using the free X264 AVC Encoder/Codec seems to give very good results according to (i think it was) Doom9, apparently you can get 45 minutes down to 112 MB with practice at far better quality than mpeg2.
i dont know the encoder line for that (yet) but im told there are examples/samples around and looking for them now.
i was thinking if there existed a FPGA board that could be programed on the fly then you might even be able to Encode/re-encode/Transcode such 624x352 (or perhaps even better)to AVC on the fly in realtime.
shame there doesnt exist such a board with an FPGA and a seperate X264 encoder/codec already be to personally programed in to such a chip by end users today, i imagine that would sell quite a lot of boards if it existed..... ;)
