I got my hands on a HPC 2. I am having problems getting the Plextor PX-712SA SATA DVD to respond. It uses u-boot-1.1.1 and linux-2.6.11.11 kernel on flash rom. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this computer and where I may find additional information on it. The Freescale web site is pretty sparse on info.

It boots up in Debian, which I use to rebuild the 2.6.11.11 kernel. I've been copying that kernel image to an x86 Fedora FC5, which I then use to do a tftpboot from.

I have experimented with the just released linux-2.6.18 kernel, but u-boot won't load it like the 2.6.11.11 kernel. Any help in getting it to boot the 2.6.18 kernel would be appreciated.

I also noticed, that bbrv posted a message that he was able to updated the HPC 2 to use Openfirmware instead of u-boot, which allowed the HPC 2 to boot from the sata hard drive. That would be an interesting upgrade, instead of using u-boot. I have acess to a BDI2000, just in case.

Just looked through a bunch of old emails from early last summer when we did this. We will have to talk to Thomas and Gerald Monday to see if we can assist you here. We could not find either the video of the demo or the Firmware file. We did find the Linux patch, but that won't help you too much alone. You should know, we aren't much help with the uboot anything.
