Hi all,

I'm the proud owner of an Efika MX Smartbook, and I'd like to work on making NetBSD boot on this platform. Most of the code is already there, because its kernel already has support for Sharp Netwalker, which is also a iMX515 based device, and the missing parts can be ported from the FreeBSD work done by Aleksandr Rybalko (ray).

In theory, this is a relatively small task that should be a matter of a few weeks, but without serial output, it becomes almost impossible.

I was wondering if one of those lucky owners of an Smartbook Debug Board would be willing to sell (or lend me, for one or two months) it.

Thanks!

Hi kug1977,

I really appreciate your offer. I've just ordered the components to build a simplified Debug Board (no JTAG, just one UART), and I think that should fulfill my needs for the moment.

But thank you anyway!

Hi, just so everyone is aware, the smarttop and smartbook debug boards are not interchangeable. The smarttop debug board will not work with an Efika MX Smartbook and neither will a smartbook debug board work with an Efika MX Smarttop.

We are glad sip found a different solution.

Thank you for your offer. My homemade UART solution is working nicely, so I don't need a debug board for the moment.
