Hi,

I have desinged an interface board to connect a VFD display and IR sensor to Efika. I want to use PC6 in UART mode to control the interface board. Could someone please confirm pinout of PC6:

1 +3.3V Power
2 n/c Not connected
3 RXC Data received
4 GND System GND
5 TXC Data transmit

I used an IC from TI for voltage level translation between 3.3v and 5v for RXC and TXC lines. I also put 1k resitors on these lines, as Neko suggested in another topic. Is there anything else I should think off?

One more question: I want to switch on Efika with a transistor placed between pins of PS connector. Is it ok to do so?

All should be fine; the pinout is fine. The chip is fine. Resistors are a good idea.

Switching the power connector of the Efika with a transistor should be okay but be careful. One wrong move and you could blow it up.. but it should be fine, you know what you are doing :)

Someone with better experience of this kind of hardware would probably be better to answer you, but from my point of view (this level of electronics and a vague recollection of how the Efika PPC went..) it all seems good.
