Hi all,

I'd like to know if anyone has/had a problem with the USB Ethernet controller not working on the Efika MX 1.0 development boards (not the ones in a case and not TO3).

I keep getting the following when loading the ehci-hcd module (or compiled into the kernel):

root@efikamx:/home/oem# modprobe ehci-hcd

Kernel is a 2.6.28 (Linux efikamx 2.6.28-ER1-efikamx), but the same happens with a 2.6.31.

Any ideas?

Johan.

Odd that you have to probe it.. it may work better built-in (I am sure this is the case with 2.6.31 though)

I've tried both. The 2.6.31 with everything compiled in has the same problem...

Any hope with the new one?

No, still the same. The more I read about the error codes, the more I think it could be a hardware fault. Strange that all 5 boards have the same symptom. Does anyone have a board of this kind with working Ethernet?

I'll try to check the hardware and compare to the newer Efika MX, or try to make the internal USB-Ethernet connector "removable" with some soldering work.

I just lack the time to do it right away...

It is an oddity with the older boards, but I was sure it was solved with a driver fix. I will check through the schematics and see if there are any major changes which would affect it but I really do not think there are any off-hand..

What happens if you "modprobe asix"?

There is a plan:

1) roll back the "asix" driver to the previous kernel version. You should be able to grab 2.6.31 stock and copy asix.c in place. See if that works.

2) go to the ASIX website and grab driver version 2.5.0 - again, copy files in place, see if that works.

Pegatron have reported "it works here" and I believe them from their logs, so...
