Hi geit !

Your project looks really very interesting !
A few months ago, I was talking with Yomgui (Python & Blender ports on MorphOS) about the possibility to bring Freevo to MorphOS (which is based on Python). But finally there was too much work and we finally let it down.
So your project with Efika, MorphOS & media center is really interesting and promising ;-)
A question : what do you use for TV tuner on your Efika ?

Well, it grows by my needs.

I tested Freevo on my peg a while ago, but I can't spare my peg to be a mediacenter, because I need it for other stuff. :)

Well, I'll start with a music section and will expand to video and picture section later on.

Currently none. The main problem is that I now have a proper nice looking case, which does not allow to change the graphic board (and everything else) anymore.

I will include my valiantvision stuff to allow TV functions on Peg etc. On Efika I need to find a proper graphic board and a second efika. :)

For now I need to finish main parts of ValiantVision before I can think about stuff like that.

Geit

PS. Or did I missunderstud and you wanted to know how I connected my Efika to television?

@geit: you answered to my question. I was wondering if you were planning to use a USB TV tuner (1.1) or an ATI all in wonder (seems too big ?) or something else...

@bbrv: something really cool would be a Genesi XGI gfx board with a TV tuner card for the Efika ;-)

ATI don't make All-in-Wonder anymore..

I think one of the goals with a Project should be not to just buy what works, but also what is appropriate. If you get an ATI AIW card, practically no-one else is going to be able to see or try your work but you.

That, and they're all full-profile cards. Kind of difficult to handle with the riser as it is.

Which TV standard?? SD or HD? Both? What outputs?

Making TV devices is really hellish. I don't think we will be making anything which has TV input for the forseeable future.

The V3XE does support a TV decoder interface though (BT829-compatible).

Here are my two questions

1) are you going to use Reggae?
2) are you going to use MUI more for the Media Center part?

I think custom-codec presentations and custom media frameworks are okay but MorphOS does provide a great deal of support for flexible application layout (at least, a modular, class-based UI) and Krashan's media library is pretty much what every other OS has and relies on for codec usage (same concepts as DirectShow, Quicktime and GStreamer)

Some decent 3rd-party codecs for Reggae would be awesome.. I think that is all it lacks right now.

Yes, I'll use it. But, currently I am not at a point to deal with it.

No, this is a 100% game engine in the background.

The setup-Tool will use MUI, but the main tool will not use MUI at all.

Reggae on EFIKA with MorphOS is probably the best maintained and managed of all 500+ ongoing EFIKA Projects. Congratulations Grzegorz!

OK, who else?! The envelope please!

Reggae is already a Freescale Selected Demo:

http://projects.powerdeveloper.org/project/efika/163

Perhaps, we could add this recognition too. 8)

The way it works.. Freescale Selected Demos are already Power Projects. But being Selected by Freescale is a far greater honor than just being a Power Project.

I figured considering there is very little space to add a huge ticker of possible logos, I would knock it down to one. It is listed in both categories though :D

In fact, we will see the demo ourselves today as we will meet with Guido.
