As far as I remember, Amigas have been used in TV-Channels for many purposes. Scala running on Amigas was very popular due to its smooth scrolling. And it was the Amiga which displayed the channel logo. I hear that there are still Amigas used today in some TV-Channels in my country.
Besides, the Video Toaster and Video Toaster Flyer allowed NLVE on desktop Amigas.
But the things I mentioned above took advantage of Amiga's custom chipsets and PAL/NTSC output.
Today the keywords are Avid, IE1394, DV, HDV, Final Cut etc. Are we sure that Efika can handle all of this?
And, the steel case in 5,25" format. Are we sure this can be manufactured at 7-8 USD cost?
Or am I getting the whole picture wrong?
The most part of the television companies in our country uses in the work for nonlinear video edition Adobe Premiere, thus the basic functional programs did not vary a little the last the version, the truth the requirements necessary for normal functioning of the program constantly increase. Presence in Linux programs of nonlinear video edition on the general functional in what not conceding Adobe Premiere, data of the purposes will allow us to use Efika for performance. Unfortunately, bottleneck Efika there is a general size of operative memory. But, by skilful optimization of work of operational system probably enough comfortable work in the given programs. Thus in the given project use also programs for work with graphics and a sound is supposed.
Some words about the price for the external steel case for Efika, presented to the project. The cost price of manufacture of the case represented in figure at present makes approximately 8$. If to add the absent forward panel on which sockets of Efika will be deduced, and also a place for installation videocards, a socket of the feed, operating buttons and light-emitting diodes, and also a demountable top cover of the case the cost price will make nearby 12$.
Yours faithfully.
