Hi all,
My EFIKA is in Poland now, but it was stopped at the border and customs officers want to impose some entrance duty on it.
Has anyone had this kind of problems?
The same happen for my Efika also in EU-based country, but FedEx assured me that I'll not pay anything as it is "sponsored computer". I just needed to provide agreement that they are allowed to do customs for me and in addition that it's really computer and the price is in USD. :-) Since custom tax for computers is zero in EU, what's only needed is to pay VAT. And FedEx will do this for me and send invoice to sender, i.e. Genesis. Or at least that was the last information I got from them. The needed documents (at least here) were: 1) agreement between me and FedEx for making customs. 2) clearance that the package is really computer with price XY in US$. Also I needed to send them copy of my identity card. So definitely wait for documents from FedEx! I hope Bill that this is OK for you and that Freescale will pay you those additional payments.
Thanks,
Karel
