Post subject:  SUSE Linux 10.1 RC2

I know, I'm a bit late, but I always test the actual alpha/beta/RC before I post here...

RC2 of SUSE Linux 10.1 is read for download. Please read the announcement at http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opens ... /0006.html

Upgrade from previous versions should work now flawlessly.

RC2 CDs are only available as delta iso-s (files, which contain only the difference between RC1 and RC2 CDs). If you don't want to download 1.3 set of CDs, you can also use 'factory' for installation, but beware, that requires more than 256M of RAM.

Please check my installation guide before installation:
http://en.opensuse.org/PegasosQuickStart
Unlike its name suggests, it's quite long, but this ensures, that most installation related information is included.

Hi "czp",
are you still OK to help for a revision of the article about Suse in the Pegasos book ?

I did not have time to try another install of Suse as I'm already quite busy with my new website, my new Ubuntu Dapper install and my Gentoo install, etc ...

You can contact me at "Lugduweb" on the domain "wikipeg" "org".

If everything goes all right, the final RC, RC4 will be published in the next few days. There were some last minute changes and fixes (it's more logical and quicker), so my guide is not 100% accurate now. I'm currently downloading factory, and will fix the guide later today (it's 1:05 AM :-) ).

@czp : I'm currently translating your Pegasos quickguide in the Pegasos book.
I really find it good !
czp : you've done really good work !
Something is missing anyway : screenshots.

Note : SUSE Linux 10.2 Alpha 2 was released on Thursday, 13th of July.

There are no screenshots for various reasons:
  • it's already one of the longest wiki page on openSUSE.org

lot of screenshots are available in the PDF documentation (which I refer to)

    I don't like screenshots anyway :-)
About alpha2: I tested the corresponding factory version. It has some great new software, but nothing Pegasos related (yet). We have a (very) slight chance, that Amiga partition tables will be supported, but the responsible developer makes everything against it :-(

@czp : I need your real name for the Pegasos book.
Is that possible.

Same for Gunne.

The way we use it in Hungarian: Czanik Péter
But to avoid confusion, I tend to use: Peter Czanik outside of Hungary :-)

OK, thx...
By the way, we don't have a Hungrarian translator yet.
Maybe you know somebody who might be interested ;-)

OK, I'll ask about it on the Hungarian Pegasos mailing list, if there is any interest. I also have an English -> Hungarian translators diploma, but I can't think about anything I hate more than translating

I guess that's why I find your english quite good and understandable.

OK, I asked around, and I got very positive responses from people. Somebody even offered help.

I'm a lazy person, so I don't want to translate the current version, when I know you are working on a new one, and this will be obsolate soon. Could you provide me with parts of the working version, which are more or less finalised? In English, as that's what I understand best next to Hungarian.
