There were some drastic changes in package management in the last two weeks in SUSE Linux. It's not possible to upgrde from earlier versions to the current beta. A fresh install is needed, but that's a disaster. Just to name a few: - 256M RAM is not enough, I had to enable swap manually, 343MB is used at the moment - it randomly selects x86_64 (Opteron) packages for PPC. I hope, that the kernel is for PPC ![]() - etc. Of course, if you don't mind all of these, you are very welcome to test it and help to make the next release better! CzP Ps: 455MB of swap is used now... |

After more than five hours of fight in Friday night (it's 4:30 local time...), beta4 is running on my peg. If anyone wants to get known with SUSE in the hard way, here you go ![]() Beta4 will be officially announced this afternoon, when all mirrors are synced. Good night/morning, CzP |
