What in hell do you need quik for on pegasos ? There is this nice forth OF menu, and even if we would like some kind of boot-loader, it would be a yaboot port. quik is only for old-world (pre-blue&white ones) powermac, and is not best adapted for us. I have yaboot partially working here, needs an OF upgrade which is not quite ready yet, but you could have seen :

http://packages.qa.debian.org/y/yaboot/news/1.html

Also, we have people working both on yaboot2/prom-libc as well as grub2/multiboot, so there will be a pletory (?) of boot-loader solutions in the near to middle future.

What are you trying to bootload?

Yaboot and Grub2 need firmware updates to operate on Pegasos,
but if you keep your kernel images on a supported filesystem
(ext2) then you should never need them.

quik will work only on oldworld powermacs, and never on pegasos, both yaboot
and grub2 will work in the future, but for now need an OF upgrade.
