Hi,

did anybody got USB working on the Pegasos2? I plugged in my USB mouse, but the LED did not light up. The same with my USB pen. There are also no messages in the kernel log.

I tried the front and the back outlets. The interesting thing is, that I can measure a voltage of 5V between the two outer pins. Are there any power problems with the board?

I know of at least one other Gentoo-Dev who has this USB-problem as well. And both machines were hand out at the SNDF in Frankfurt.

I use a Logitech Trackball USB mouse, Epson C84 USB printer and a Mustek MDC 3500 digital camera with my Pegasos II (recieved 12/27/2003).
I use Debian sarge and Yellow Dog 4.0 linux.

This is the right forum for this kind of things. The USB works just fine, i use the same keyboard you go in USB mode, a logitech trackball, my samsung ML1210 printer, and use it for digicam downloads and using my USB sticks. I use also a cheapest Sangha USB 1.1 4 port hub to connect everything but the keyboard, somehow the keyboard doesn't like to be connected through a usb hub in the OF.

Does it work if you connect the usb keyboard directly in the OF prompt ? I assume that you reinstalled gentoo on the machines, and built your own kernel, you sure that you didn't forget any of the usb modules ? The pegasos uses uhci, and not ohci or ehci.

Can you try downloading :

http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage- ... tinst.iso

Doing the install, and confirm that the problem is still present there ?

@Nels : How can I get my Epson C64 or 820 recognized? I have never tried to print with Linux. Please be as verbose as possible.

On a cool note my Firewe DV Cam was mounted succesfully as was a Lacie 160gb fw HD!

I have mounted USB sticks, kybrds, mice, My Kodak digital camera, etc.

Shame on me

I had ohci enabled (I got too used to these Apples ) instead of uhci. Just enabled uhci and rebootet brought back some life into my USB devices. Thanks a lot Sven for pointing me into the correct direction
