I'm looking for a tool for testing RAM of my Pegasos machine without booting Linux, or any other OS. I know one for x86 ( http://www.memtest.org/ ), but that does not work on PPC.

If there is no such tool, is there a live CD, which has similar functionality included?

When you turn it on the Pegasos dumps the result
of its machine initiation memory tests to the serial
port, you can see them connecting it to another computer running a terminal software linked to the
peg serial port (for computers without serial ports
you can use a serial2usb adapter), more info and
detailed instructions on BPlan website.

I know that there is a quick check from firmware, but what I would like to see, is a bit more thorough testing of RAM. MemTest86 makes a systematic stress testing, doing all kind of memory operations to check if there is any trouble. It might run for hours, if there is enough RAM to test ;-)
