This is not at all KDE related, but ipv6 related. Debian's linux 2.6
configuration has both ipv4 and ipv6, and for some obscure reason it first
tries ipv6 which fails and only does ipv4 after the ipv6 try times out. I am
no network expert, so i don't really know why this happens, and how to fix it.
Anyone here has more insight ?

That said, it is certainly not a few minute but one at most or less.

Friendly,

Sven Luther

Hmm, perhaps you could try to add
Code:
alias net-pf-10 off
into your modules.conf. This should disable ipv6 at kernel level - but I don't know how the libraries in debian will then react ;-)
