I'd like to take my smartbook to the beach this summer. I've thinked to put it in a thin plastic bag to avoid sand or water goes in; but I'm afraid to burn the cpu without ventilation.

I searched for it in this forum and I've read that smarttop hasn't sensor for cpu temperature [1].

And my question is: Someone knows a tip to monitoring the cpu temperature in a smartbook.

Hi, Freescale's i.mx515 processor is certified for ambient temperatures that you are highly unlikely to experience at a beach in Spain. Even with a plastic bag, you should be fine.

To get a general idea about the temperatures inside your computer, you can check how hot your battery is. Just open a terminal and type: If you divide the shown value by ten, you will get the temperature of your battery in Celsius.
