Google is making a cash bid on Motorola Mobility, offering to pay $40 per share (or 12.5 billion dollars), meaning a 63% overprice from when Friday's trading was closed.

They are doing this to further strengthen Android in mobile devices, or to "supercharge" it as Larry Page, CEO of Google, says a blog post. He also says that Motorola will continue to run as a separate business, and Android will continue to be open.

A stronger, more secure Android can only be good news to those making Android based HW, right?

How is the Genesi Tablet's coming along BTW?

:-)
