The Update Manager offers to upgrade. Is it a good idea, with the current state of the closed bits supplied by efika (2d/3d drivers, etc.) ?

Please do not upgrade at this time. There are packages specific to the Efika that will be removed (like GPU) and other potential conflicts may be created. We are preparing an upcoming 11.04 Natty based release and hope to have this out in early May. Watch the efikamx blog for details. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Do you happen to know whether the upgrade will require a reinstall? I'd much rather not do yet another one.

Most likely it will require a reinstall. We are going to shake things up for Natty, and go with a more customized installation.
