just tried with an hdmi 1.4a cable... but the monitor says "no signal". Is there a workaround or a standardized method to check and fix it?

There are several workarounds all which break other monitors.. we are still doing intensive testing on this matter with regards to HDMI compliance (we play fast and loose with a few things, but it doesn't seem to make a difference for most monitors even if we do it correctly)
