I'm trying to connect Efika to a remote controller, preferably IrDa. Anybody has any link or experience with lirc on Linux? Or how would that work with MorphOS?

Cheers

Check the Pegasos book (Gentoo Media center section).
You need lirc driver (http://www.lirc.org/). I used it combined with an Hauppauge PVR 350 (thanks to Genesi's help).

For the hardware, I know P.Van den Abeele (Genesi) did use those for the Genesi's HMCS media center:
Zapway and iMon VFD and IR

I guess that should be working fine with the Efika.

Hope that helps

For MorphOS I don't know.

It should work fine with the Efika. Make sure to buy the USB version of the VFD and not the parallel version though. The Efika doesn't have a parallel port. Use Gentoo's lcdsplash to write INIT messages to the VFD during boot.
